Weekend of down time

It was finally a nice weekend spent with a lot of down time. We stayed in on Friday night, cooked dinner. Saturday we met up with Serena and Justin (couple who just moved here from NY) and Justin's coworker and friends for dim sum. It was an all you can eat dim sum place for about $25 and we went crazy. Most of the dishes tasted pretty authentic to dim sum I'm used to so it was really good but we ordered and ate way too much. The rest of the afternoon and day was spent lounging. I mistakenly thought it was my friend Lauren's bday dinner Sat night but I got the date wrong. We ended up staying in and watching movies and tv shows online. We watched Jackass 2 - so hilarious. After sleeping in and a slow start to Sunday, as well as getting a little lost on the train, we made it to the aquarium. It was small but nice. It has a cool glass tunnel so you can see fish all around and up close. Just as good as scuba diving w/o all the hassle. There were also huge sting rays, giant turtles, dolphins, penguins, sea lions and sharks.

Less than 2 weeks to Bali! For those who may not know we're going to Bali for our wedding ceremony and honeymoon!! Yup, we're really looking forward to it. :)

sounds like a great weekend! feel like those downtime weekends are few and far between and should be enjoyed! been pretty low key for me too. went out with friends, went to the brooklyn museum (there was a cool exhibit made out of spools of thread that was reflected in a lens and it would look like the mona lisa, vangogh self portrait, the last supper - very cool! prob not doing it justice. so glad the security person told us about it - went to see the impressionst landscape exhibit), trekked up to dinosaur BBQ. did we go to the one in rochester? it was worth the hike up to 131st st. we'll go when you come back! def better than anywhere else i've had in the city. can't believe it's sunday already. thinking of checking out spelling bee on b-way today. oscar's night! i'll def pick up an in touch or life and style or us weekly for you with the oscar dresses - it's the best part of the oscar's! the all you can eat dim sum sounds awesome. think i am still full for BBQ. can't believe bali is sooo close! the lottery is over $200M for tuesday - cross your fingers for me then i quit my job and go to bali! :)

Jackass (2) aptly describes those morons in the movie. There were a couple of gross out scenes-- not involving pain but the ingesting of unnatural things.
Even if you don't understand the language, the zany game shows on Japanese TV are pretty funny.
More snow on the way tonight.

If you haven't discovered this already, http://www.tv-links.co.uk has tons of US and UK tv shows that I completely crave and miss like a mad person. Living in Japan doesn't have to mean giving all your money to itunes... I've lived here for about 9 months now, and American [yes, oft trashy] tv is sort of what I miss the most...
